Here at Hope We Believe:
Of Justification:
1.The great gospel blessing
which Christ secures to such that believes in him is justification.
2.Justificaition includes the pardon of sin, the gift
of eternal life, on principles of righteousness.
Of Repentance and Faith:
1.Being deeply convicted
of our guilt, danger and helplessness, we turn to God
with total repentance and faith
to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our only all-sufficient
Savior.
Of the Church:
1.A Baptist church is
a congregation of baptized believers associated by a convenant
of faith and fellowship of the Gospel.
Of Baptism and the Lord's Supper:
1.Baptism is the immersion
in water of a believer; in the name of the Father, of
the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
2.Baptism demonstrates our faith in the crucified, buried
and risen Savior and it's application to our death to
sin and
resurrection to a new life.
3.Baptism is a pre-requisite to partcipating in the Lord's
supper.
4.The members of the church use the sacred bread and the
fruit of the vine to commemorate the dying love of Christ.
This is always preceded by solemn self-examination.
Of the Perseverance of the Saints:
1.We believe only true
believers endure to the end. This perserverance is the
mark of our attachment to Christ.
2.We are kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal
salvation.
Of the Righteous and the Wicked:
1.There is a radical and
essential difference between the righteous and the wicked.
2. The righteous are justified in the name of the Lord
Jesus
3. The wicked are unrepentent, non-believers.
Of Civil Government:
1.The civil government
is of Divine appointment, for the interest and good order
of human society.
Of the Resurrection and Return
of Christ and related Events:
1.We accept the sacred
Scriptures as the final authority for all doctrine.
2. The Resurrection: We believe that Christ arose bodily
"the third day according to the Scriptures;"
that He alone
is our "merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining to God;"
3.His return: He will return bodily, personally and visibly,
"...at the last trump", "...to reign a
thousand years...".
Of Missions:
1.The command to give
the Gospel to the world is clear and unmistakeable and
this Commission was given to the churches.
Of the Grace of Giving:
1.Scriptural giving is one of the
fundamentals of the faith
2. We are commanded to bring our gifts, our tithe, into
the storehouse upon the first day of the week.
